Zak Sports, Scarborough · We’re gauging interest for February
The Ladies’Program.
Want to get some swings in before the season starts? Come join us.
We’ll run the same setup as the men’s program: grounders to warm up, open BP, weekly exit velo testing, and the Pressure Cooker Round. You’ll also be able to track your numbers on the leaderboard each week.
It’s $300 for the 14-week block, running February through April 2027.
We’re still figuring out the numbers, so the program isn’t confirmed just yet. Get on the list and we’ll let you know when we have an update.
The Setup
Two groups of 6 hit at opposite ends of the lane, 12 in total, with a shared standing area between them and divider screens separating the stations.
- 8:00Grounders 25 minStart with 25 minutes of grounders to get the body moving, loosen up and get your hands working before we get into BP.
- 8:25Open BP 85 minThis is your time to hit. Work on whatever you want, whether that’s pulling the ball, going oppo, hitting line drives or working on your timing. Each player gets 12 pitches before rotating. Both stations run at the same time, with 6 players per station.
- 9:50Velo test 20 minTake 5 measured swings. We’ll record your average and top exit velocity on the board so you can see how your numbers change throughout the block.
- 10:10The Pressure Round 20 minEvery at-bat starts with a 3-2 count. You get one pitch before rotating to the next player. Score points by hitting the targets and taking walks, but strikeouts will cost you. Keep your team in the game and see who finishes on top.
- 10:30Clean up 10 min

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
Women who play slo-pitch, or want to. Whether you play every summer or haven’t picked up a bat in years, you’re welcome. Every level gets its own baseline.
Is it definitely happening?
Not yet. We’ll run it if enough women sign up. Joining the interest list doesn’t commit you to anything, and we’ll email everyone on it as soon as we know.
When, where, how much?
February – April 2027, 14 weeks, at Zak Sports in Scarborough. $300 for the 14 weeks. Nothing to pay until it’s confirmed.
What happens on a night?
The same as the men’s program: grounders to warm up, open BP, a 5-swing exit velo test, and the Pressure Cooker Round to finish. Your numbers go on this Leaderboard every week.
Do I need to know my exit velo?
No. Your first night sets your baseline. The Leaderboard is about how much you improve from there.
What is the Pressure Cooker Round?
The last 20 minutes of the night. Every at-bat starts 3-2: one pitch, rotate, go again.
How does scoring work?
Hit a target: 5 points. Take a walk: 1 point. Strike out: minus 2. Points add up across the program and have their own column on the Leaderboard.
What do I bring?
Your bat, glove and batting gloves. Turf shoes or runners, no cleats in the cages. We handle the balls.
Do I need to bring a teammate?
No. Come on your own and meet everyone there.
